The 2024 Edition of Rhapsody was organized by the MBA (FT) 1st Semester students of Centre for Management Studies, Dibrugarh University on November 13, 2024 as part of the course requirements of the Core Course on Computer Applications in Management. The theme was Automation Management and the Internet with Mr. Durlov Baruah, Founder and Developer of Kuhipaat Communications and Technology Pvt. Ltd. as the Resource Person. A management graduate from the prestigious Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA), Mr. Baruah began his career with Mudra Communications, where he managed account planning for major brands such as McDonald’s India. His expertise in digital marketing and Internet banking was further honed during his tenure at Deutsche Bank, where he led the Internet Banking & Marketing team in India.
The event commenced with the rendering of the University Anthem followed by the felicitation of the Resource Person by the Chairperson of the Centre, Prof. Pratim Barua. In his brief speech, he praised the guest for venturing into a challenging field like digital marketing and carving a name for himself. After a small introduction about the theme, the stage was given to the Resource Person.
The Resource Person as part of his talk delved on the role of the Internet and digital tools in today’s businesses. He opined that being tech savvy is crucial and familiarity with new software is important for one’s professional career. He also touched on cyber security and password management. After the talk, he answered questions on the theme as well as his company and competitors.
At the end of the event, Dr. Himadri Barman, the Course Coordinator applauded the MBA (FT) 2024 batch for a job well done. He shared his experiences in the technology domain and thanked the resource person for sharing his journey in the field of automation and the Internet with the students and hoped that the Centre and its students would continue to benefit from his expertise. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by the host, Ms. Shreya Goswami of the MBA (FT) 2024 Batch and the singing of the National Anthem.
