Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, an Online Lecture Series on Motivation was organized for the student community by Centre for Management Studies, Dibrugarh University in association with the Department of Commerce, Dibrugarh University using the Zoom platform. The Lecture Series featured five lectures from five different resource persons starting from July 13 and ending on July 17, 2020. The lectures were given by Prof. Pranjal Bezborah from the Department of Commerce (Living a Successful Life), Dr. Dhrubajyoti Bhuyan from Assam Medical College (Stress During COVID-19 Pandemic), Mr. Pransu Raj Kaushik from Centre for Management Studies (A Happier Self), Dr. Biraj Hazarika from Oil India Limited (Campus to Corporate in Challenging Times) and Dr. Pratim Barua from Centre for Management Studies (Understanding Motivation). 401 participants registered for the Online Lecture Series from Dibrugarh University, Gauhati University, Rajiv Gandhi University, Assam Women's University, National Institute of Technology - Slichar, National Institute of Technology - Arunachal Pradesh, and many other colleges and institutes in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. On the last two days, the lecture series was streamed live on CMSDU’s official Facebook page which also reached thousands of viewers. Questions asked on the Zoom platform as well as on Facebook Live were answered by the resource persons. The Online Lecture Series was coordinated by Dr. Himadri Barman of Centre for Management Studies.
The lecture series was well received by the participants. Head of the Department of Commerce, Dr. Chimun Nath as well as Prof. Pranjal Bezborah participated and interacted with the resource persons on all the days of the lecture series. The Centre is likely to host more such lecture series in the near future.
