The Centre conducts a Ph. D. Program in Management, which is part time in nature. Candidates with a M. Phil/NET/SLET/GATE are allowed to directly register for the programme subject to availability of Guides. Candidates without the above mentioned degree/score have to appear in the Dibrugarh University Doctoral Reserach Eligibility Test (DUDRET).

General Information on DUDRET

  1. DUDRET is usually conducted in the month of November. Candidates have to opt for the Management Discipline.
    
    
  2. The DUDRET consists of two papers, each carrying 100 marks. The aim of Paper I is to make the candidates think through logically and systematically, local, national and global issues in the present context vis-a-vis the Management discipline with an open mind. It would test the candidate's general ability and research aptitute whereas Paper II would test the candidate's knowledge of Management as a subject.
    
    
  3. Paper I is of 1 hour and 30 minutes duration. Paper II is of 2 hours and 30 minutes duration.
    
    
  4. Paper I would be in two parts. The content and division of marks shall be as follows:
    1. Part I: 80 marks - Objective/multiple choice questions (40 questions each carrying 2 marks), on aptitude and awareness (inclusive of reasoning, quantitative aptitude, general awareness, and other related areas of contemporary relevance).
      
      
    2. Part II: 20 marks - Management specific Research Methodology meant to candidate's acquaintance with the primary aims and objectives of research both within the discipline and of research in general. This part have two short answer type questions, each carrying 10 marks on research, hypotheses, methodology, tools, documentation, thesis writing, etc.
    
    
  5. Paper II would also be in two parts. The content and division of marks shall be as follows:
    1. Part I: 60 marks - Objective/multiple choice questions (30 questions each carrying 2 marks), covering all aspects of the Management discipline.
      
      
    2. Part II: 40 marks - one essay type question requiring in-depth subject knowledge (there wil be sufficient choices).
    
    
  6. The syllabus for the test shall be at par with the current NET/SLET (NE) Syllabus.
    
    
  7. The minimum marks for clearing the DUDRET shall be 45% in each paper and 50% in aggregate.
    
    
  8. Validity of the DUDRET is for a period of two years.
