Learning and Information Resources' Unit

The CMS Library is called the Learning and Information Resources' Unit and is currently housed in the Ground Floor of the Research Complex of Dibrugarh University - shown by the black oval in the adjoining picture. The Unit is looked after by the Unit-in-charge. Timings are from 0900 - 1900 Hrs on weekdays including the weekend. For more information on LIRU, mail to liru@cmsdu.org
The Unit is meeting the needs of the students and faculties alike with its ever-increasing stock of books, journals and periodicals. IT has now 1486 volumes as well as bounded back volumes of many journals and periodicals in its stock. This is exclusive of the 75 volumes procured for the PGDTM Programme which is currently maintained separately at the PGDTM Co-ordinator’s office. The Unit subscribes to 17 journals/peridicals as of date. Average monthly transactions in the Unit is well over 400. The library has sufficient titles on Management Theories & Practices, Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Financial Management, Marketing, Economics, Strategic Management, Computer Applications, Financial Accounting, Accounting for Managers, Quantitative Technique for Managers, Production & Operations Management, Management Information Systems and on subjects of various other interests and disciplines, besides professional journals and magazines.
Efforts are being made to provide for reprographic and electronic date transfer facilities within the Unit itself.The Unit is fully computerized, with the in-house developed Learning and Information Resources' Unit Automation System (LIRUAS) working satisfactorily. It is feature heavy offering among others a comprehensive web-based Search Facility and an on-line Advanced Booking Facility. The Members are provided with a host of facilities through a web-enabled interface
